Irvin Paul (Pete) Osborne, 84, of Hemphill, died
at home in Dayton, Ohio, Sat. 1/26/2008. He was born
8/9/1923 in Premier, WV. the son of the late David and
Mary (Saunders) Osborne.
Pete was a former coal miner and employee of the City of
Welch. He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant
daughter; several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Swimmie) Osborne of the
home. sons; Ronnie Osborne, address unknown. Eddie Osborne and
wife, Phyllis of Welch. Sgt. Major Paul Osborne and wife, Della
of Mercer County. Curtis Osborne and wife, Rene of Big
Sandy. Two daughters, Sonja Kay O'Neal and husband,
Richard of Big Sandy, and Mary Osborne of Princeton. Four
step daughters whom he raised and loved as his own; Augusta Ward
and husband Matt of Xenia, OH. Becky Bennett and husband,
Joey of Hemphill, Jessica Swinnie of Coalwood, and Ashley
Swinnie of the home. Several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, and a brother, Albert Osborne of Marion,
VA.
At his request he was cremated. A memorial service was
held at Little Vine Baptist Church, Wed. Jan. 30, 2008 at 7:00
p.m. till 9:00 p.m. Evangelist J.B. Robinette, Jr. and Pastor
Roxy Hurt had scripture reading at Mrs. Osbornes request.
